About Us

Ken Curran worked as a journalist and editor for over 20 years.He started his career as a freelance sports journalist with the Irish Press Group, Soccer Reporter newspaper, Irish Rugby magazine and a number of British sports magazines and newspapers. After graduating from the School of Journalism, College of Commerce, Rathmines, Dublin he was employed by the Limerick Weekly Echo as a staff news and sports journalist. He moved to the Connacht Tribune in Galway where he also worked as a news and sports journalist. Upon joining Independent News & Media plc in 1980 he worked as a news reporter, sports/news reporter with the Irish Independent and Evening Herald, assistant news editor of the Evening Herald and business editor of the Evening Herald.

Among the many stories he covered was the Papal Visit to Ireland in 1979, US President Ronald Reagan's visit to Ireland in 1984, the Stardust disaster, the Kerry Babies Tribunal, Stephen Roche's victory in the Tour De France in 1987, the European Parliament, Dail and Seanad, General and local elections. For 10 years he was assistant news editor of the Evening Herald before becoming business editor of the same paper.
